   This Star Trek: The Original Series Crew Cats Sherpa Blanket is officially licensed, measures 50″ x 60″, and is made of 100% polyester. The blanket is very soft to the touch and easy to clean by simply washing on cold and drying by air or at low temps.I have used this Original Series Crew Cats Sherpa Blanket for over a month now and the colors are still vibrant. The fabric is still soft and it’s been in use daily as a throw for my favorite chair.What I liked most about this Original Series Crew Cats Sherpa Blanket was:- The design. I hate to state the glaringly obvious but the main selling point of this blanket is the design work. I found the design impeccable. The original uniforms with each character decked out in the signature colored uniform we most remember them for wearing are spot on.- Durability. Polyester is a cheap, synthetic material but it’s easy to care for and can be long-lasting with proper care.- Warm. This blanket is very warm and because of that, I use it as a throw for my favorite leather chair. It’s always a bit chilly for me in my home as my hot-natured girlfriend keeps the temperature around 70-degrees which is chilly for me.What I liked least about this Original Series Crew Cats Sherpa Blanket was:- The ‘Trek Tax’. Most Trekkers are very much familiar with the Trek tax which essentially is a premium added onto everyday items that carry the Star Trek logo, characters, or licensing. This item is no different. You could probably buy a plain blanket of this size for 20-25 bucks if you looked hard enough. But, it wouldn’t be half as fun.Overall, if you’re a Star Trek: TOS fan and would like to add a new item to your collection this Original Series Crew Cats Sherpa Blanket could be the item you’re looking for. The original characters have been substituted for cats, which adds to the uniqueness of this blanket. Functionally, the blanket is warm and easy to care for but it suffers from the dreaded Trek Tax we’re all too familiar with. Still, this item isn’t outrageously priced and it represents a world of nostalgia for those who love the Original Series. 5.0 out of 5.0.

   I LOVE this blanket! It’s everything I imagined it would be! The image is exactly like it is in the ad, nice and vivid, whimsical, and a great replica of the Enterprise.The blanket is double layered and each layer is REALLY thick. The bottom layer is a thick, fuzzy texture, while the top layer with the picture is very soft. The double layers make this blanket exceptionally warm and cozy.The blanket covers the most of my body (barely over 5 feet), while for my 6 foot 3 inches husband, this is more of a lap blanket.Either way, the blanket offers enough warmth and coziness, and has become quite the conversation starter.

   I gave this blanket to my father, who introduced me to Star Trek as a child and made me love the series. I got their Next Generation version for my son and this Original Series one for my dad. It seemed fitting. If they ever come out with a DS9 and Voyager one I’ll be happy to get them for my other kids too. Wouldn’t that be fun for us all to get together with our star trek blankets and binge some of the best episodes together?The blanket is well made and great for snuggling up under while you watch Star Trek (or other stuff)! The printed design side is adorable and fun, the design is clear and easy to see details from the original artwork. It’s soft and has a medium weight to it. It’s heavier than I expected, but not a heavy winter-type blanket. We live in the cold north so we often snuggle up with blankets during the winter months (and most of the spring and fall) and this is a nice weight for that, in my opinion anyway.The blanket washes well and there has been no bleeding, fading, shrinking or anything else. It comes out of the wash looking and feeling great.

   As a card-carrying Crazy Cat Lady, I fully recommend this snuggly blanket! Very soft on the graphic side, with a sherpa-fleece thing going on the other. Great sofa blanket .Awesome gift for any Cat Trekkie!

   This blanket has the makings of a real nice gift. Too bad it didn’t come in more professional packaging. It’s supposed to be a licensed item from Paramount. Yet, it was just rolled up in a poly bag with an Amazon barcode sticker on it. There was no branded paperboard wrapping that you find around throw blankets in the store. We hope it’s not a used return, but there’s no time to exchange before the holidays. We don’t know that it’s not supposed to come like that – no retail packaging needed online, you know.The blanket itself felt soft on the plush side and fluffy on the Sherpa side. The selling point is the colorful, adorable cats on the bridge of the Enterprise. It’s perfect for anyone who loves both Star Trek and cats – and we have one of those in the family. So they’re getting this, and hopefully, they won’t analyze the packaging.While we were wrapping it, we did notice that the two sides didn’t seem to be sewn together evenly. There was bunching on the plush side that didn’t lay completely flat with the Sherpa side. Zoom in on the product picture and you can see it. With the casual glance of most shoppers, you probably wouldn’t even notice it – we didn’t. But now that we know, we can’t help but see it. Maybe that’s to be expected in a double-layer blanket because of the cut and stretch of the two fabrics, and likely, it wouldn’t be noticed when you’re just wrapping up in a throw. But again, for a licensed item, we thought there would be a little more care taken in the design and production so that it would be a classy item to give and receive.If you’re looking for a pristine collector’s item to treasure for eternity, this blanket may disappoint. But if you want a fun, casual gift for yourself or others, beam up these kitties!
